Arborist Assistant / Tree Maintenance Team Member

BildGroup Landscape Team is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Arborist Assistant / Tree Maintenance Team Member to join our small, professional Arborist Team with a focus on tree establishment. While our operational base is in Campbellfield, the role will involve daily travel to various client sites across Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a passion for tree establishment and horticulture to develop their career in tree management.
Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled tree care tasks, including formative pruning, planting, mulching and watering.
* Monitor the tree population for pests and diseases and assist in implementing integrated pest management plans.
* Assess tree structure and form, and perform remedial pruning as needed.
* Apply horticultural knowledge to ensure optimal tree establishment and growth, particularly for newly planted stock.
* Ensure all work sites are safe, clean, and comply with OHS standards.
* Operate and maintain various tools and equipment.
* Assist the Arborist in reporting on tree conditions and works completed.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Horticulture or Arboriculture.
* Previous experience in a similar role, working with juvenile trees to ensure successful establishment.
* Experience in a nursery setting, demonstrating strong knowledge of tree identification, plant health and formative pruning, would also be considered.
* Understanding of Australian Standards and pruning of amenity trees.
* Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
* Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, and effectively as part of a small, focused team.
* Current and valid Australian driver's licence.
