About the Opportunity

As a Speech Pathologist within our multi-disciplinary team, you will create meaningful change by conducting comprehensive assessments and developing and implementing individualised and evidence-based treatment plans. You will work with people with aphasia, dysarthria, progressive communication challenges and/or swallowing issues. You will have the opportunity to support the running of the Talkback group for people with aphasia at our Modbury site.

Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals across disciplines, you will contribute to holistic care plans that address the complex and diverse needs of our clients. You will engage in vital health promotion activities, sharing your professional knowledge with individual members, targeted groups, families, and staff to foster a culture of communication wellness and awareness.

About You

You will be an empathetic and compassionate professional who brings exceptional patience and understanding when working with individuals experiencing communication or swallowing issues because of stroke, brain injury, dementia or progressive neurological issues.. You recognise that each person's journey requires individualised care and respect for their dignity.

Your strong communication skills enable you to connect meaningfully with clients and their families, building trust and rapport while effectively conveying complex information in accessible ways.

You thrive in dynamic environments where flexibility and adaptability are paramount, maintaining composure and resourcefulness while taking a solution-focused approach to supporting clients through the complex challenges of cognitive decline, swallowing difficulties, and age-related communication disorders.

* Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent).
* Registration and or accreditation with the appropriate professional board or association (SPA)
* Australian Drivers Licence and vehicle
* National Police Clearance
* Experience in working with adults with: dysphagia, aphasia and/or voice (LSVT training provided).
