Department: Human Resources / Finance Reporting To: HR Manager & Payroll Manager

Salary: $76,000 – $77,000 per annum Summary We are seeking a highly organised, focused, and resilient HR & Payroll Clerk to support both Human Resources and Payroll functions across Queensland (QLD), Victoria (VIC), Western Australia (WA), New South Wales (NSW), and the Kimberley region.

This fast-paced role is central to recruitment, onboarding, file management, employee support, event coordination, and end-to-end payroll processing. The HR & Payroll Clerk will advertise roles across multiple platforms, manage high-volume candidate screening, conduct phone interviews, verify documentation, coordinate onboarding, maintain employee records, and process payroll using Employment Hero and Xero. This role requires a goal-driven individual with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy environment with competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding: -Advertise vacancies across Jora, Indeed, Seek, Workforce Australia, and internal job boards.

-Liaise with government employment agencies and workforce programs. -Screen resumes and shortlist candidates across multiple states. -Conduct initial phone interviews to assess suitability, experience, and availability.

-Verify all candidate documentation, including licences, work rights, visas, certifications, and qualifications. -Compile complete onboarding files and maintain structured candidate documentation. -Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates and managers.

-Manage end-to-end onboarding, including contracts, new starter forms, bank/tax details, system setup, and induction material. HR Administration: -Maintain accurate and secure employee records, licences, certifications, training, and leave data.

-Update Employment Hero and internal HR databases with new hires and employee changes. -Prepare HR reports, workforce summaries, and ad-hoc data requests. -Distribute and coordinate digital and physical training materials.

-Scan, store, and organise HR documentation and company policies. -Respond to general employee HR enquiries promptly and professionally. -Organise and assist with company events, including staff functions, recognition events, and internal activities.

Payroll Responsibilities: -Process payroll cycles for all states using Employment Hero and Xero. -Review timesheets, attendance, approvals, allowances, and leave.

-Calculate and process payroll adjustments, including bonuses, overtime, penalties, deductions, and commissions. -Maintain payroll files, including tax declarations, bank details, superannuation information, and deductions. -Resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.

-Produce payroll reports and summaries for managers. -Assist with audits, superannuation processing, and payroll tax obligations. -Ensure compliance with Fair

Work legislation, industrial awards, and company policies. Qualifications & Skills: -Experience in HR, recruitment, payroll, or administrative support roles.

-Understanding of HR processes (recruitment, onboarding, training, compensation). -Strong knowledge of Employment Hero, Xero, and Microsoft Excel. -Excellent organisational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.

-Strong written and verbal communication skills for dealing with candidates, employees, and managers. -High accuracy and strong numerical capability. -Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

-Qualification in HR, Business Administration, Accounting, or a similar field is advantageous. Personal Attributes -Goal-oriented, with strong initiative and self-motivation.
