The company operates as a specialised distributor serving builders, contractors,s and major projects. Client sectors range from residential construction through to commercial developments and industrial facilities, including mining and processing operations. The business manages significant inventory holdings, multi-entity structures, and complex operational workflows integrating purchasing, warehousing, sales, and project-based delivery. Finance works closely with operations to provide visibility over stock levels, job costing, cash flow, and working capital requirements. The company is currently implementing a cloud-based finance system to improve process efficiency, reporting capability, and integration across the business. This creates an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to lead the transition, strengthen control,s and position finance as a strategic partner to the business as it continues to grow. About the role The Finance Manager is responsible for finance operations, ensuring reliable financial information supports business decisions and meets compliance obligations. The role combines operational management, financial reporting, and business partnering. You will oversee accounts payable, payroll processing, month-end procedures, and statutory reporting. You will prepare budgets, forecasts, and management accounts, providing analysis on inventory performance, job profitability, cash flow, and working capital to the leadership team. The successful candidate will be comfortable working hands-on while also building systems and capabilities for future growth. The position reports to the CEO and leads a finance team of 4-5 staff. Key responsibilities Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports Lead payroll, accounts payabl,e and monthly financial processes Maintain internal controls and finance systems Monitor cash flow, operating performance Lead and develop the finance team Provide financial insight to support business growth and operational continuity About you This opportunity will suit a finance professional with experience in manufacturing, distribution or construction and a strong understanding of inventory and job costing. Experience in improving processes, reporting and controls within a growing business will be essential.
