Community & Cultural Development Officer – Arts Development
The Community & Cultural Development Officer reports to the Community & Cultural Development Coordinator and is responsible for delivering arts development initiatives, cultural programs, and community capacity‐building projects that support the Council's strategic vision across the MidCoast region.
Responsibilities
* Lead projects aligned with the MidCoast Cultural Plan.
* Administer the community and cultural grants program and identify funding opportunities through grant writing and research.
* Plan and evaluate cultural strategies, deliver programs and events, and build relationships with local artists, creative industries, and cultural organisations.
* Provide advice on public art and collaborate across the Council to support diverse cultural activities.
* Maintain accurate reporting to track community impact.
Qualifications
* Qualifications in arts management, cultural development, or relevant industry experience.
* Strong grounding in arts funding, cultural policy, and sector development, with experience delivering capacity‐building initiatives.
* Proven track record in grant writing, reporting, and managing constructive partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and deliver projects effectively.
* Current Class C Driving Licence and Working with Children Check.
Salary
* Commencing salary circa $44,850 p.a. (pro rata salary at 21 hours per week)
* 12.5% Superannuation
* Salary negotiable based on skills and experience
Location
This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast region.
Tenure
Permanent, Part Time – 21 Hours per week; Days of work are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
