Support Coordinators assist NDIS participants with the implementation of supports that are funded in their plan.
We are looking for an ethically minded, compassionate individual to join our dynamic Orange based team.
Training in all aspects of the role will be provided to the successful applicant.About Your Role:The key responsibility of a Support Worker is to work directly with individuals supporting them to achieve their goals.
This may include:Supporting individuals to gain independence in everyday life and learn new skillsConnecting individuals with recreational, sporting or community groupsCollaborating with key people in an individual's life, including family members, employers or other support services to achieve the best outcomesRole model and advocate for people living with disability in the communityBuild rapport and collaborate effectively with participants and their support network, including staff/management, families and friendsImplement Individual Plans and Positive Behaviour Support PlansData Collection of support needs and behaviors of concernEngage participants appropriately in activities of preferenceSupport participants to engage in community access to build skills and capacityWork with challenging and complex participants with behaviours of concernTransport participantsRequired Attributes:Creativity and outside-the-box thinkingAbility to adapt your mentoring skills to people from diverse backgroundsAbility to create and maintain professional working relationshipsAbility to work autonomously and within a teamGood communication and interpersonal skillsBe flexible and adaptable to individual needsBe organised and have good time management skillsFlexibility with hours is essential and is dependent on different client's needs.Be reliable with a can-do attitudeApplicants will be required to pass:Working with Children Check (WWCC)NDIS Worker ScreeningPolice CheckWhat is required for the role:Current NSW Drivers licence (Can be provisional)
