The Role
Applicants should have a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at the secondary phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students. The successful applicant will ideally have proven skills in behaviour management, curriculum expertise and have achieved high levels of student achievement in English. The successful applicant will ideally be highly effective in engaging and motivating students and managing a positive learning environment. Ideally, they will possess excellent interpersonal skills and work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students.
It is desirable that the successful applicant have experience in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) English as well as General and Foundation English courses. The successful applicant will work as part of a dedicated team to develop, review and deliver English curriculum. To be successful in this role, they should strive to have strong teaching and classroom management skills and will be able to develop good relationships with all students, engaging them in effective learning. They should have a commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes. At Eaton CC all our teachers engage in reflective practice, informed by classroom observations, student feedback surveys and close examination of student performance data.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Eaton Community College in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2 500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
