The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) delivers high quality, accessible healthcare to people living in rural and remote communities. As the contracted provider for the Western NSW Primary Health Network (PHN), RFDSSE delivers the Keeping Healthy Puura Manti Program (KHPMP)—a time limited initiative designed to improve chronic disease outcomes across the region. About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Podiatrist to deliver high quality, evidence based podiatric care across Broken Hill and the Far West network. This role is dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of chronic foot conditions, with a specialised focus on preventing amputations and severe disability within high‑risk diabetic populations. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high quality podiatry assessment, treatment, and wound care Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support holistic health outcomes Develop and implement care plans, particularly for clients with chronic conditions Liaise with internal staff, external providers, and community services Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure continuity of care through follow‑ups and referrals Provide culturally safe and respectful care, supporting Aboriginal clients and their families Participate in community engagement, health promotion, and prevention programmes Ensure infection control standards and safe maintenance of equipment Uphold professional standards, confidentiality, and compliance with AHPRA and organisational policies Contribute to quality improvement, safety, and service development activities Engage in ongoing professional development and represent the organisation positively Essential Criteria:
Tertiary qualification in Podiatry Registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA Demonstrated understanding of chronic disease management and multidisciplinary care Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse client groups Strong communication and interpersonal skills Willingness and ability to travel across the region Genuine interest in improving health outcomes for rural and remote communities Mandatory Requirements:
