**Job Summary**:
We are currently seeking an Energy Metering Engineering Officer to support Powerlink with the provision of maintenance, testing, commissioning, diagnostic and investigative services; optimising the operation of Secondary Systems equipment.
**About the role**:
Joining our Secondary Systems team as our Energy Metering Engineering Officer, you will undertake a large proportion of installation, pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning work for refurbishments and some of our exciting new projects, together with operations, maintenance and repair work as you contribute to the completion of the work portfolio.
In this customer-oriented role, you will play a key part in maintaining a safe and reliable supply of power to almost 5 million Queenslander customers and 238,000 business across Queensland, connecting Queenslanders to a world class energy future.
Available to you will be working a 9-day fortnight with RDO's every second week, you will also be required to travel throughout Queensland as per the monthly work schedule. Paid overtime hours and allowances are applicable, and you will work within a supportive team environment and with leaders who genuinely care about your well-being and work-life balance.
**About you**:
You will have the drive to provide high quality Energy Metering Systems services is reflected in your prior success in the maintenance, testing, commissioning, diagnostic and investigative services, and repairs of complex Energy Metering systems, equipment and secondary systems in a collaborative team environment.
You will be able to establish effective relationships and regularly engage with key stakeholders whose input is critical to successful delivery of the initiative. As our Energy Metering Engineering Officer you will be responsible to coordinate work performed by external consultants and contractors to ensure that deliverables are provided in accordance with agreed scope, quality standards, budget and timeframes.
Your previous success demonstrates your ability to effectively use automated and microprocessor controlled test instruments for use on Energy Metering equipment and interfaces with Secondary systems; analyse and fault find on complex electrical circuitry and schemes; perform HV switching, secondary isolation and secondary systems work programs; and prepare Technical Reports and Work Procedures.
To be successful in this role you will hold a Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Licence, an Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent and "C" Class drivers licence. If you do not already hold an Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent, it is expected that you have significant progress towards one and continue to undertake studies to achieve.
