Meridan State College is located in Meridan Plains, Caloundra on the Sunshine coast. At Meridan, we aim to provide a contemporary educational experience that prepares every student for the challenges and opportunities of the future. By embracing a highly engaging futures-oriented curriculum, we ensure that every student is equipped with the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world. Meridan is a Prep-Year 12 College and boasts a distinctive sub school structure which fosters the education of this broad age range of students in modern campuses, which have been purpose designed to cater for each cohort at their specific age of development.
About The Role
There are 5 (five) positions available:
* 3x Temporary Part-time, 30 hours per week / 0.79FTE
* 1x Temporary Part-time, 27.75 hours per week / 0.73FTE
* 1x Temporary Part-time, 6 hours per week / 0.16FTE
As a College staff member, are committed to our vision — Igniting Minds, Empowering Futures, placing priority in building positive relationships with students, teachers, and families. Teacher Aides assist teaching staff to engage students in their day-to-day learning. This will include and is not limited to:
* Assist students individually or in small groups (e.g. literacy and numeracy)
* Support a diverse range of learners across multiple year levels, reinforce teacher instructions and contribute positively to student engagement and wellbeing
* Demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect for students with high-level needs
* Support implementation of adjustments for students with disabilities
* Use and support assistive technology programs
* Supervise students in classrooms, playgrounds, sports events, and excursions
* Willing to undertake health and personal care training and provide medical assistance if required
* Manage teaching materials, equipment, and maintain accurate student records
* Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team
* Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and sensitivity with students and families
