The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Hydrographic Surveyors to join our established Australian marine survey operations. Based from either our Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth offices, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
9. Conducting offshore hydrographic surveys including office-based project preparation and data processing and reporting;
10. Acquisition of data to highest industry standards and in accordance with Fugro work instructions and project specific procedures;
11. Set-up, calibration and operation of hydrographic survey systems;
12. Installation, configuration and operation of hydrographic survey software packages;
13. Ensuring appropriate data logging parameters and formats are used, and data archiving procedures and standards are maintained;
14. QC on the acquired data, processing, analysing and reporting on survey data, including positioning and bathymetry datasets.
About You
We are looking for someone who is excited about working offshore and has:
15. Certification by the AHSCP at Level 1 or 2 is preferred;
16. Hold a category A or B in Hydrographic Surveying or relevant tertiary degrees in Hydrographic Surveying, Surveying or related disciplines;
17. Sound understanding of the principles of geodesy, surface and subsea positioning, navigation, acoustic theory, bathymetry data acquisition including tidal reduction, and vessel operations;
18. Competent with the calibration and operation of offshore positioning, navigation and bathymetry systems including both single beam and multibeam echo sounders;
19. Experience with online acquisition and data processing software including CARIS products would be an advantage;
