We are seeking a creative Senior Infrastructure Engineer who has experience building modern cloud services to join our team today.
Responsibilities
1. Involved with all aspects of software development (design, implementation, and maintenance) with a focus on modern virtual infrastructure best practices, working to create and maintain the most reliable, secure, performant and high-throughput service for our customers by building cutting-edge cloud and edge technologies.
2. Partner closely with product owners, software architects and senior developers, platform operators and other stakeholders to iteratively turn high-level requirements into product enhancements that are delivered to customers incrementally and continually.
3. Implement performant, stable, scalable and forward-thinking solutions on time, and provide testing benchmarks.
4. Assist Platform Operators in troubleshooting and addressing production issues as needed, as a product expert.
5. Contribute to improvements in processes, tools, and technical methodologies that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the team, with an emphasis on having an efficient CI/CD process.
6. Provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to team members and stakeholders, including reviewing plans, designs, scripts, and participating in technical feedback loops.
7. Contribute to technical product roadmaps.
8. Participate in on-call support as part of a rostered escalation process.
Minimum Qualifications
1. BS or MS in computer science, a related technology field, or equivalent experience.
2. At least 10 years of hands-on experience with operating and managing virtual software, managing containerized workloads, and high-traffic customer-facing enterprise solutions in production environments.
3. At least 5 years' experience working within a product engineering team, collaborating closely with software developers in designing, developing, testing, and delivering software products.
4. Expertise in defining and managing Kubernetes-based workloads that scale.
5. Ability to configure and customize Linux-based operating environments based on application needs.
6. Strong understanding of TCP/IP and virtual networking technologies, including Kubernetes Network Policies and AWS Cloudfront.
7. Ability to perform automated testing using Cypress.
8. Experience with live database upgrades.
9. Adept at writing and managing Helm and Terraform scripts using GitOps principles.
10. Experience implementing Kubernetes-based MQTT Brokers using the Aedes MQTT software.
11. Knowledge in integrating password management systems with Infrastructure as Code.
12. Proficient in using bash and Python to integrate with network services.
13. Extensive experience creating customized Docker images.
14. Extensive experience with DevOps and DevSecOps SDLC practices.
15. Good understanding of security principles at network, server, and container levels.
16. In-depth understanding of the SDLC.
17. Working experience with MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Vault, Consul, and equivalent AWS services, including live data migration with minimal downtime.
18. Experience with CI/CD and deployment pipelines using Jenkins and Rundeck.
19. Experience with load testing and benchmarking tools.
20. Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
21. Ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic environment.
22. Detail-oriented approach to building secure, stable software.
23. Experience with Agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban.
Preferred Qualifications
1. AWS experience.
2. Experience with iPaaS offerings.
3. Ability to read and write in Node.js.
