About the Pastry Chef de Partie Role
We are seeking a skilled and creative individual to join our pastry department. As a Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for preparing a wide range of pastries, ensuring each item meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
You will work closely with our Head Pastry Chef to craft memorable culinary experiences for our guests. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a keen eye for creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing a diverse range of pastries, including desserts, cakes, and breads.
* Collaborating with the Head Pastry Chef to develop and update dessert menus.
* Ensuring all pastries and desserts meet quality standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
* Working closely with other departments and kitchens to coordinate service and ensure timely delivery of desserts.
* Monitoring and managing inventory levels of pastry ingredients.
* Training and overseeing junior pastry staff and interns, providing guidance on techniques and workflow.
Requirements:
* Certificate III in Patisserie (or equivalent).
* Recent experience in a pastry kitchen, preferably in hotels.
* Experience in luxury international brands is highly regarded.
* Demonstrated in-depth skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
* Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
* A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment.
* Valid work rights in Australia.
