Salary Range: $86,600 – $124,725 per annum pending experience + $19,535 Middle Leader Allowance (pro rata) + Super
About the role
This is a full‐time, permanent teaching role commencing as soon as practicable, with an opportunity for a fixed‐term appointment to the Acting Curriculum Leadership position which will conclude on 17 January 2027. The Curriculum Leader supports the mission of Southern Cross Catholic College through leadership of the learning and teaching programme, by ensuring that appropriate pedagogies are developed and implemented at all levels. The successful applicant will demonstrate leadership in three dimensions: teaching and learning, human leadership, and strategic leadership. Guided by Catholic values, you will demonstrate authentic leadership that nurtures faith, compassion and community.
Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor other teachers, building collaborative teams and translating data into meaningful improvement.
* Plan, deliver and assess Design Technologies curriculum for senior secondary students, ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA requirements.
* Develop and implement effective teaching strategies and learning programmes that support student progress, engagement and well‐being.
* Participate in curriculum planning, assessment, and evaluation across the school.
* Serve as a role model and uphold the Catholic ethos in all professional activity.
* Work in partnership with other teachers, leadership and parents to promote student success.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers.
* Extensive classroom experience in the Arts and a deep understanding of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA requirements.
* Evidence of proven ability to lead and mentor others, build collaborative teams and translate data into meaningful improvement.
* Strong communication skills, a commitment to professional growth and a passion for student learning.
