Senior Medical Officer Job Description
Bidgerdii Community Health Service is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Officer to lead the medical team and drive improvement in clinical systems, pathways, and our model of care.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and bring experience as a GP or Senior Medical Officer within a primary health care or community health setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clinical leadership and oversight of the medical team to ensure safe, high-quality care.
* Drive improvement in clinical systems, pathways, and our model of care.
* Embed continuous quality improvement processes, monitor outcomes, and support accreditation and governance frameworks.
* Develop and oversee medical education and training programs.
* Act as a key clinical advisor to the Executive Leadership Team and Board.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience as a GP or Senior Medical Officer.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* A strong commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
