As the Assistant Director in the Darwin Local Network Office you will lead a team to represent the department in the Northern Territory, delivering stakeholder engagement, program support and assurance and stewardship of the aged care system. The key duties of the position include Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is looking for a person with strong leadership skills and a desire to achieve outcomes for the Northern Territory to lead our Darwin Aged Care Programs team. As the Assistant Director in the Darwin Local Network Office, you lead a team to perform a range of functions including stakeholder engagement, program assurance and stewardship of the aged care system, as well as supporting connection between aged care and health programs in the Northern Territory. Responsibilities include: Lead and coordinate a team supporting the aged care sector in the Northern Territory. Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of aged care systems, programs, and policy. Work in partnership with local stakeholders to support solution brokerage and delivery of program outcomes. Represent the department at engagements including with service providers, consumers, Northern Territory government and other commonwealth agencies. Provide support to the aged care sector through delivery of reforms including commencement of the new Aged Care Act from 1 July 2025 Gather intelligence and report on departmental programs outcomes and the local conditions which impact service delivery. Identify and report on emerging issues and risks, develop and deliver risk management and mitigation activities. Support aged care providers to provide service continuity though emergency events.
