Job Description
* Permanent full-time role
* Based in Paget, QLD
* Salary $84k - $90k per annum
Join our team as a full-time, permanent Petrographer in Paget, QLD. In this role, you will be responsible for petrographic and microscopy preparation, analysis, and reporting in a safe, efficient, and effective manner, following documented procedures, test methods, and work instructions.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Carry out coal and coke petrographic analysis and microscopy in general.
* Carry out equipment maintenance and calibration.
* Calculate, assess results and initiate repeat analysis.
* Maintain a comprehensive database of all results obtained.
* Undertake training and development of a Graduate Petrographer.
* Maintain a technically first class laboratory facility.
* Maintain NATA accreditation for Petrography (Macerals and Reflectance) in accordance with relevant ISO, ASTM and AS methods.
* Maintain ICCP accreditation.
* Be familiar and comply with the contents of the Quality Policies Manual, Quality Systems manuals/procedures and associated documents.
* Suggest and help to implement improvements to procedures, methods and techniques.
* Know and understand Health & Safety procedures and to wear required safety equipment.
* Help to provide routine preparation and analysis instructions for Petrographic analysis.
* Help to maintain a harmonious working environment.
* Help to maintain harmonious relations with clients and staff.
* Support areas of company enterprise.
* Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
* Microscope experience is essential.
* Qualifications
in a Science field are required.
* Experience in Coal and Coke Petrology is desirable.
* Background in Coal Analysis is desirable
* ICCP Accredited Petrographer is desirable
* Full knowledge of preparation and analysis standards is desirable
