About the Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail‐oriented Commercial Officer to join our Hunter Class Frigates Commercial team. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to pursue the best commercial outcomes for the Customer and the business while supporting the Australian Defence Forces. This opportunity is available at either our Bourke St Office in Melbourne or Osborne Shipyard Office in Adelaide and is open to hybrid work, flexibility and a 9‐day fortnight.
Principal Accountabilities
* Provide coordination and administrative assistance to the Commercial team to support progress and negotiation of Maritime Business activities
* Support administration of the HCFP contract and related agreements in accordance with company procedures
* Prepare contract amendments and change proposals
* Review confidentiality and other agreements for Commercial Manager's approval and provide assistance on commercial issues
* Prepare draft business agreements for projects and track return and execution of agreements
* Assist the Commercial Manager with documentation required under the request for bid approvals and lifecycle management process, including presentation packs, checklists, forms and plans
* Coordinate management review and approval of bids and proposals
About You
You'll have:
* Demonstrated commercial experience in engineering or defence organisations with some exposure to Australian defence contracts
* A well‐organised, thorough and professional approach with a high degree of motivation, initiative and enthusiasm
* The ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and perform as part of a small team with minimal supervision
* Ability to interact effectively with colleagues within and outside the immediate team to implement business requirements
* Well‐developed self‐management skills and a demonstrated ability to work on own initiative to deliver outputs on time, quality and cost
* Whilst not essential, a degree qualification or studying towards engineering, project management, commercial or law is desirable
* Intermediate PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance
