Job Role:
A key aspect of this role is to lead the planning, design, and execution of major mechanical engineering projects. This will involve collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and execute large-scale mechanical engineering projects in partnership with cross-functional teams
- Oversee contractors and subcontractors to guarantee work is conducted safely, within timeframe, and within budgetary constraints
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project groups
- Develop intricate mechanical designs using software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Ensure all mechanical designs and activities adhere to Australian standards (AS/NZS) and other applicable codes
- Utilize SAP systems for project tracking, asset management, and procurement processes
- Conduct technical reviews, quality assurance, and risk assessments
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to guarantee alignment of project objectives and deliverables
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including specifications, reports, and drawings
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
- Over 10 years' proven experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in planning and executing major projects
- Extensive experience managing contractors and project teams
- Proficient in mechanical design software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Well-versed in Australian standards and other international standards relevant to mechanical engineering
- Experience using SAP for engineering and project management functions
