Responsibilities
* maintain the department's information privacy framework to ensure compliance with the Information Privacy Act 2009, and lead departmental improvement of information privacy controls, processes and practises.
* provide authoritative and timely advice to departmental staff on information privacy matters, including information privacy assessments, statements and related compliance matters.
* manage responses to privacy breaches and right to information requests and facilitate the department's referral and liaison with the Office of the Information Commissioner, where necessary.
* contribute to the maintenance and delivery of the department's corporate governance and legislation compliance frameworks as required.
* prepare comprehensive and high-quality information privacy and general corporate artefacts, including executive briefings and submissions, communication collateral, reports and other deliverables of a complex nature.
* coordinate compliance projects and activities – such as risk management and information privacy to strengthen the department's governance and assurance maturity.
* lead engagement in corporate training and awareness activities to support compliance with legislative, governance and risk management and information privacy obligations.
* prepare high-quality reports, submissions, briefing notes and other correspondence of a substantial and complex nature.
* actively contribute to a creative team that values continuous improvement, and a collaborative culture focused on achievement of objectives within approved timeframes and budgets.
