Job DescriptionBoeing Australia is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Environment, Health, and Safety Specialist to join the EHS team based in Tullamarine, Melbourne, or potentially Murarrie, Brisbane. Reporting to the Boeing Global Services EHS Manager based in Dallas, Texas, this role will support our key distribution facilities and subsidiaries across Australia and New Zealand.Along with developing EHS Management Systems, conducting internal audits, and supporting external audits, there will be the need to lead EHS committees across Australia and New Zealand along with maintaining compliance with workplace health and safety, and environmental protection in both countries.As our chemical distribution business continues to grow in country, there will be needs to support comprehensive compliance programs to ensure compliance with various regulations related to the purchase, receipt, storage, packaging, shipping, import and export and disposal of chemicals and regulated articles.Due to the global nature of the team, there will be the need to participate in calls and meetings outside traditional business hours, however, with that comes great flexibility. The position does require some travel, both domestically and internationally on occasion when the business need arises.ResponsibilitiesParticipate on the regional Sr. Leadership teams as EHS counsel.Lead EHS Committees for Australia and New Zealand.Act as regional focal for Boeing Subsidiaries EHS & Compliance. Work with the regional representatives on 'One Boeing' initiatives.Plan, direct, and coordinate EHS activities through functional teams, and with direction of the EHS Manager.Act as key EHS liaison with site leaders and business partners assisting in the execution of strategic and tactical EHS plans.Coach, lead, and motivate EHS team mates and business partners to achieve EHS objectives in a timely and safe manner, while continuously striving to improve safety skills & awareness.Develop and document comprehensive EHS management systems.Lead interface with regulatory agencies.Ensure compliance with various regulations related to the purchase, receipt, storage, packaging, shipping, import and export and disposal of chemicals and regulated articles.Evaluate new technologies and processes to develop strategies and tactics for reducing workplace hazards and environmental impacts.Develop education and training material to support regulatory and business requirements.Lead program reviews, investigations and provide corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of incidents.Help to establish a culture that is aligned with EHS objectives, with continuous EHS improvements.EducationA Tertiary qualification in EHS or similar is desirable, but not essential.Experience4-8 years of EHS experience in an operational environment.Warehousing and distribution experience.Knowledge of regulations and reporting requirements with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of chemical regulations.Must be highly organized; able to prioritize and meet target dates in a very fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently yet see others as partners and essential team members.Strong organizational and system implementation skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.EligibilityApplicants must be Australian Citizens as sponsorship cannot be offered for this role.About UsBoeing Australia and New Zealand are shaping the future of aerospace and delivering some of the nation's most important programs for both the defence space and the manufacturing of composite components for commercial aircraft.
