We are seeking a skilled professional to lead and supervise teams on investigations, competition analysis, and litigation related to anti-competitive conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead teams to identify and analyze relevant information to draw evidence-based conclusions on competition issues.
* Develop, implement, and review plans for the conduct of investigations and/or projects.
* Identify suitable resolutions for identified actions, changing market behaviors, activities, and issues, and provide recommendations to senior management.
* Prepare for litigation in the Federal Court, including drafting briefs for lawyers and counsel, and obtaining witness statements.
* Assist with leading and guiding the professional development of junior team members and contributing to the leadership of the branch.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in economics, law, or similar fields.
* A strong and demonstrated understanding of the competition provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other relevant legislation, or the ability to quickly acquire this.
* Experience leading and managing investigations into complex matters and/or competition law issues in accordance with developed plans, and ensuring investigations are undertaken with established investigative principles.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis to draw accurate conclusions, critically assess, and support evidence-based decision making (ideally in matters involving competition law analysis).
* Strong written drafting skills and demonstrated experience in ensuring high-quality documentation, including staff papers, notices, correspondence, reports, minutes, and briefs.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to foster successful internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Salary: EL1 $123,702 - $136,900 (plus superannuation)
