We are looking for a new member of our SA team to contribute to successful delivery of projects and a positive contribution to water, catchment and waterways management. We are looking for graduate or early career engineer with an interest in building a career in water engineering.
The role will work closely with Alluvium's other engineers, as well as geomorphologists, scientists, urban water strategists, economists, social scientists, catchment modellers and planners to plan, design and implement some of Australia's most exciting and challenging river restoration, urban water management and urban stream naturalisation projects. The Alluvium skillset covers strategic planning through to detailed design for a range of urban and rural water management challenges. Some of our current and recent work in SA includes:
* Water options for City of Onkaparinga.
* Environmental and cultural flows for Northern and Yorke Landscape Board.
* SA Water supply and demand modelling.
* SA River Murray Flood Forecasting.
In this role, you will be part of the delivery team for a range of projects across Australia and overseas, carrying out:
* Hydraulic and hydrologic modelling using software such as 12D, HEC-RAS, MUSIC.
* Spatial analysis and mapping .
* Concept and detailed design .
* Report writing and presentation to clients.
You'll also support our SA Manager in client engagement and business development.
We are looking for a person with the following attributes and skills
* A degree or higher in civil or environmental engineering or equivalent.
* 0-3 years experience applying engineering principles in relevant waterway, river and catchment scenarios and at various landscape scales.
* Maturity to take responsibility for agreed outputs, completion and quality of products.
* Excellent ability and self management in interdisciplinary work, information assimilation, analysis and problem solving, thinking strategically and demonstrated success in applying skills and experience to real world problems.
* Demonstrated ability in communicating information, including high quality writing skills in English.
* A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and values-driven work culture.
* Ability to develop good rapport with clients, stakeholders, staff and partners, together with listening skills empathy and awareness.
* A long-term perspective and ability to build knowledge, skills, relationships and profile.

Remuneration is commensurate with skills and experience and subject to negotiation.
An important part of our business is its ownership structure. Currently we have almost 50% of our staff as owners in the business and with a philosophy of increasing disbursement to create further ownership opportunity.
