About Us
Capital Networks Pty Ltd is a Canberra based radio telecom contractor currently onboarding with Tier 1 clients (Nokia/Ericsson). We run lean, ISO aligned operations with a strong focus on compliance, site safety, and clear client communication. We are open to any type of contract you are interested in, sub contractor or employee.
The Role
We are seeking a local Safety & Compliance Director to join our board and take charge of safety governance, quoting review, and client liaison across our ACT and regional projects. This is both an operational and governance role: you will sit on the board of directors while serving as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) with clients, shielding the ground crew from unnecessary pressure and ensuring smooth delivery and acceptance of works.
Responsibilities
* Sit as a member of the board of directors, contributing to governance and strategic decisions.
* Lead safety management and ensure compliance with ISO aligned IMS (45001/14001/9001).
* Conduct site audits and safety inspections across ACT and southern NSW (training provided).
* Assist with reviewing quotes, reading engineering plans, and ensuring constructability.
* Act as primary SPOC with clients, handling communications, updates, and acceptance of works.
* Maintain training and certification records for crews.
* Help build a culture of safety first rigging and telecom operations.
Candidate Profile
* ACT based (essential, due to audit and client liaison requirements).
* Safety qualifications (or willingness to gain certification with our support).
* White Card, Working at Heights, and EWP (or ability to obtain).
* Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Comfortable using AI assisted tools to analyse reports/documents and prepare evidence based advice for the board.
* Strong communication skills and confidence to challenge decisions where safety or compliance are at stake.
* We strongly encourage female applicants to support balanced leadership and reduce ego driven conflicts.
* Telecom rigging/construction experience highly regarded but not essential.
Remuneration Framework (Phased)
Phase 1 Establishment Period (Day 1 to Initial Client Payment, ~45 days):
* 5% equity allocation at commencement, aligned with onboarding.
* Company funded training and licensing support (where applicable).
* Direct access to IMS, governance systems, and support from Directors.
* Acknowledgement that salary may be deferred during this transition period, consistent with founder contributions.
Phase 2 Post Cashflow (After ~45 days):
* Competitive salary benchmarked at +20% above the industry average for comparable safety leadership roles in the ACT (~$130k–$155k).
* Reimbursement of reasonable business expenses (fuel, travel, training).
* Eligibility for performance based incentives and project completion bonuses.
* Potential pathway to board appointment, subject to alignment and performance.
What We Offer
* A board seat and real influence over company direction.
* Direct role in a lean, compliance driven company.
* ISO aligned training and certification support.
* Opportunity to grow alongside Tier 1 network rollouts.
* Above award remuneration and ownership stake.
Application Process
* Visit our website to understand who we are.
* Shortlisted candidates will be provided our business plan in confidence.
* Interviews will start with an open discussion on governance lessons and the transition from our previous frontman.
Summary
This role is suited to an experienced professional who values long term opportunity over short term comfort. By contributing through the establishment period, the successful candidate will share directly in the company's growth trajectory and future rewards. If you're serious about safety, compliance, and governance, and want to be the SPOC between crews and Tier 1 clients, we'd like to hear from you.
