About The Role
The Head of Department - Senior Schooling will play a key role on the College Leadership Team, helping to drive our school's focus on improving curriculum, teaching practices, and our culture of learning. In this role, you will support both students and staff in the senior phase of learning, building capability across a range of pathways and programs. This is a great opportunity to lead, inspire, and make a real difference in students' futures.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - Senior Schooling, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Initiatives, support, and intervention to improve educational outcomes for students in the senior phase of learning.
* Line manage the delivery of VET classes, the VET Coordinator, and the Industry Liaison Officer, with clear oversight of engagement in the VET pathway.
* Monitor student learning progression, from SET Planning to Year 13 outcomes, in collaboration with the Deputy Principal - Senior Learners.
* Facilitate QCAA processes in collaboration with the Deputy Principal - Senior Learners and QCAA Student Management Support Staff.
* Track attendance in the senior phase, liaising with Year Level Coordinators to ensure every student maximises attendance, engagement, and achievement.
* Determine and implement actions for at-risk students through data analysis at key junctures, and develop targeted intervention strategies.
* Track senior student behaviour data, focusing on daily, weekly, and termly patterns, including case-managed students.
* Support student behaviour management, including goal setting with students and referrals to the Wellbeing Team and Support Staff.
* Commit to creating a school-wide culture of learning and engagement that is responsive to the provision of quality outcomes for every student.
