CASUAL LASH & BROW ARTIST

Beauty experience not essential - Please read

Yes, we do lashes and brows — but it's really so much more than that.

Every day at Face Ave, we get the privilege of making someone feel more confident, more themselves, and a little better when they walk back out the door. Sometimes it's a pamper, before an event. Sometimes it's the only quiet hour they've had all week. Sometimes it's just being seen, listened to, and cared for.

We're looking for an understanding, and caring lash & brow artist to join our studio on a casual basis, with the intention of progressing into a part time/full time role once the right fit is established. This role is for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, understands the impact of small moments, and takes pride in making someone's day — every single day.

If you come from a strong hospitality or customer service background, communicate with ease, think on your feet when clients need tailored solutions, and care about how people feel, you'll feel very at home here.

We're big on quality, good energy, and building something sustainable. Not chaos.

THE ROLE

* Casual employment to start

* Approx. 15 bookable hours per week max starting out

* 3 days per week, 5.5 hour shifts (starting out, min of one late afternoon finish eg 7pm)

Hours and responsibilities grow gradually, no pressure for instant full books or perfection Pay will be in line with the Fair Work Hair and Beauty Industry Award

WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL LOOK LIKE

The heart of the role (about 80%)

This is a hands-on service role first and foremost.

Your days will centre around:

* delivering thoughtful, high-quality lash and brow services creating a calm, welcoming "you're safe here" experience for every client holding space for people — whether they want to chat, vent, or enjoy some quiet time

* contributing to a studio environment that feels grounded, warm, and considered This stage is about building confidence, trust, and rhythm — not being perfect or knowing everything straight away.

The rest of the role (about 20%)

As you settle in and grow more confident, you'll naturally support the wider studio experience.

This may include:

* assisting with client communication so no one feels forgotten or rushed

* helping maintain a smooth, welcoming studio flow

* supporting small day-to-day tasks that keep the space calm and organised

* helping with behind-the-scenes social media, sharing moments that reflect the studio vibe and care we put into our work

SERVICES YOU'LL BE DOING

(Phased in)

* Brow shaping & colour

* Brow lamination services

* Lash lifts & tints

(Lash Extensions — not required initially)

GROWTH & OPPORTUNITIES

Once you're confident in services and truly settled into the role, opportunities may open up beyond the treatment room — for the right fit.

This can include:

* deeper involvement in social media or content days, sharing the heart behind the brand

* supporting client experience or studio coordination

* stepping into senior artist responsibilities

* increasing hours and progressing into a part or full time role

We also love learning and staying inspired, including interstate training, workshops, and industry conferences. If growth — and the occasional flight — excites you, you'll feel aligned here. Growth happens when it feels right for both the individual and the business.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You'll thrive here if you:

* Have experience in hospitality, retail, or people-focused roles

* Communicate calmly, kindly, and professionally

* Care about how people feel in your presence

* Are emotionally intelligent and intuitive with clients

* Enjoy problem solving and finding the right solution for each person

* Take pride in creating magic for clients

* Appreciate structure, systems, and clear expectations

* Are open to feedback, learning, and growing over time

* Feel excited by work that's meaningful

Beauty experience is welcome but not essential — training will be provided for the right person. Experience matters — but reliability, care, and attitude matter more.

A QUICK NOTE FROM SOPHIE (WOULD WE VIBE?)

You'll be working closely with me, so it feels important to share a little about who I am and what it's like to work together day to day.

I'm a bit silly sometimes, but know when to lock in. I care deeply about how clients feel when they walk in... and just as much about how the team feels working here. I like clear communication, mutual respect, and an environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions and being themselves.

I'll always explain the why, I'm big on support and encouragement, and I believe feedback should feel helpful, not heavy. I love watching people grow their confidence and finding their own rhythm, without pressure to be perfect all the time.

If you enjoy working alongside someone who's organised but relaxed, takes the work seriously without taking themselves too seriously, and genuinely wants the studio to feel like a nice place to spend your day — we'll probably get along very well

HOW TO APPLY

Please send your resume to, along with a short intro about you.

In your email, give us the tea and give us a glimpse into:

* Your previous job roles (especially customer facing roles, what were the roles like)

* Your current availability

* What you love to do outside of work hours (hobbies, travel, books, music etc)

* A link to any beauty Instagram, TikTok, or portfolio work (if applicable)

We're not rushing this hire. We're looking for the right fit — someone who cares, shows up, and wants to grow with the business.

Final sign off:

If this sounds like your kind of place, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.

We're excited to welcome someone who understands that sometimes the smallest treatments can make the biggest difference — and who wants to be part of creating that, every day.

Can't wait to meet you,

Sophie
