Cowbell follows policyholders' cyber risk exposures as they evolve through continuous risk assessment and underwriting. Our underwriting platform, powered by Cowbell Factors, aims to compress the insurance process from submission to issue to less than 5 minutes. Founded in 2019 and based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Cowbell operates across the U.S., Canada, U.K., and India.
Cowbell Cyber is hiring a Business Development Underwriter to join our team.
What you will do
* Maintain profitability with appropriate risk selection, analysis and service of accounts based on Cowbell Cyber Insurance guidelines.
* Manage relationships with insurance brokers to negotiate pricing, coverages and other terms.
* Service renewal business throughout the year while maintaining our customer service standards.
* Collaborate with the Business Development team to support goals and strengthen partnerships with brokers.
* Maintain an expansive knowledge of the cyber insurance marketplace and current trends in the industry.
* Identify areas where Cowbell's unique capabilities provide a competitive advantage and build processes to support these.
* Participate in determining approaches to emerging threats, loss trends, marketplace changes and other trends in cyber risks.
* Partner with Engineering and Data Science teams to continually improve our technology and deliverables to the policyholder.
* Serve as a subject matter expert for coverage questions.
* Collaborate with a passionate team, grow, learn, and contribute to the company's success.
What Cowbell needs from you
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum 4+ years of underwriting Cyber underwriting experience.
* Technical expertise and product knowledge in Commercial Insurance.
* Demonstrated ability to build a profitable book of cyber business.
* Knowledge of marketing principles, underwriting and pricing strategies.
* Strong sales and marketing skills with experience in agency and broker management, including building and maintaining relationships.
* Proven ability to negotiate at all levels and develop broker relationships.
* Strong service orientation and teamwork.
