Steer a team while strategically supporting the effective functioning of an influential committee
The Child Death and Serious Injury Review Committee function (CDSIRC) is administered through the Department for Education. CDSIRC is an independent, statutory body that reports directly to the Minister for Education. Its role is to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in South Australia.
CDSIRC reviews circumstances and causes of death/serious injury to children and young people and makes recommendations to relevant agencies that may help prevent similar circumstances. Recommendations suggest changes to legislation, policies, procedures, or practices. CDSIRC conducts in-depth reviews of deaths and publishes an Annual Report that summarises the outcomes of its reviews and provides a statistical overview of trends and patterns in child deaths in South Australia.
