About the Role
The Assistant Brand Manager supports the Brand team in developing, executing and evaluating brand campaigns and retail activations that strengthen awareness, engagement and conversion.
This role plays a key part in managing cross-channel marketing initiatives, from consumer research and creative development to trade partner engagement and in-store presence.
Bridging the gap between marketing and sales by delivering retail activation strategies, in-store promotional campaigns and visual merchandising to maximise brand presence in key retail and e-commerce channels.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & campaign execution – Support the execution of integrated brand campaigns across all channels, ensuring creative excellence, commercial impact, and alignment with brand strategy.
Drive end-to-end delivery from concept through to post-campaign evaluation.
Consumer insights & market intelligence – Support consumer and market research initiatives to uncover actionable insights that shape brand positioning and product strategy.
Content & communications – Champion development of compelling brand content and storytelling across all touch points, including blogs, brochures, video scripts, media releases and digital assets.
Ensuring consistency in tone, messaging and visual identity.
Public relations & partnerships – Manage PR and affiliate platforms to amplify brand visibility and engagement.
Lead proactive media pitching, award submissions and collaboration with key partners to enhance brand credibility and awareness.
Trade & retail marketing – Develop and implement high-impact trade marketing programs, including campaign creative, POS design, and visual merchandising standards.
Manage POS allocation and the rollout of retail activations, ensuring premium brand presence in-store and online.
Retail experience & brand visibility – Champion the brand's in-store footprint through permanent stand design, brand blocking and sampling demonstrations.
Collaborate with suppliers and the sales team to deliver standout retail experiences that drive engagement and conversion.
Communications enablement – Support communication rollout for business changes, new product development and organisational updates to ensure timely and targeted engagement across channels.
Performance measurement & continuous improvement – Evaluate the effectiveness of retail initiatives through sales analysis and partner feedback.
Present insights and recommendations to optimise future campaigns and strengthen brand performance.
Category foresight & innovation – Help identify emerging trends and whitespace opportunities within the wellness, nutrition and lifestyle sectors.
Provide strategic recommendations that shape innovation pipelines and brand evolution.
Experiential marketing – Supports the planning, coordination and execution of brand activations and events, bringing the brand to life through immersive, impactful consumer experiences.
About You
Strong project management skills and the ability to multitask effectively
A balance of analytical thinking and creativity
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Team collaboration abilities
A solid understanding of retail and trade marketing fundamentals
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field
3+ years' experience in marketing (ideally within FMCG or wellness brands)
Experience in or an affinity for the natural health industry
Sales experience highly valued
Availability to work occasional weekends for event support as needed
