The Opportunity
Due to our sustained growth, we are currently seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to join our team in Brisbane.
A talented engineer with experience on projects ranging from conceptual design to detailed engineering.
Full-Time, Maximum-Term and Contractor positions available.
This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and involves working on a diverse array of projects across the Energy, Chemicals and Mineral Processing industries.
You'll be involved in the entire detailed design process, from concept to detailed design.
Key Responsibilities
Development and preparation of piping engineering documents such as piping and valve specifications, line lists, pipe support schedules.
Review and checking of design deliverables including piping isometrics, piping plans, plant layout drawings.
Perform piping stress analysis and layout optimisation.
Provide advice to design team on pipe routing and equipment layout.
Review vendor data relative to piping engineering activities.
Manage communication of piping design information between Sedgman Prudentia engineering and design teams as well as client and other stakeholders.
Provide technical support to sites for improvement, maintenance, and modification.
Complete design checks, resolve engineering issues, calculations and plant optimisation.
Review and update as-built drawings and site procedures.
Compile technically accurate reports to support engineering activities.
Mentor junior team members through providing guidance, explaining professional responsibilities, and reviewing work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
Actively collaborate and influence others through positive behaviours.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in design engineering roles.
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgy, or Minerals Processing) or similar.
Mining and/or Metals industry experience.
Familiarity with production reporting systems, historian data analytics, or other data and document management systems is highly valued.
Capable of working safely and efficiently both independently and in a team.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and critically.
