Exclaim IT is collaborating with a forward-thinking SaaS company to recruit a Software Quality Assurance Lead. This is a newly created role, offering the chance to define and elevate quality practices across the engineering function while driving meaningful improvements. You'll work in a technical, engineer-led environment, partnering with software and hardware teams to embed quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle - ensuring reliable delivery without slowing innovation.
Role Overview
As the Software Quality Assurance Lead, you will:
* Develop and enhance testing frameworks, code review practices, and CI/CD quality checkpoints.
* Enable fast, high-quality delivery while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy.
* Align quality standards across software and hardware engineering teams.
* Support ISO 27001 compliance and audits, while focusing primarily on strengthening engineering performance and delivery confidence.
Success in this role relies on technical credibility, collaborative influence, and the ability to drive change across teams with independence and trust.
What We're Looking For
* 5–10 years in senior software quality assurance or related technical leadership roles.
* Deep knowledge of modern development practices, CI/CD, and test automation.
* Proven experience in driving quality improvements and influencing engineering standards.
* Hands-on ISO 27001 experience, including audit management.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, adaptable to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable in fast-moving environments.
* Background in software engineering, DevOps, or test automation.
* Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA).
* Experience in SaaS, cloud, or security‐critical software environments.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001, SOC 2, or equivalent frameworks.
Location & Working Model
Based on the Gold Coast with a hybrid schedule (three days on‐site, two days remote). Candidates in Melbourne or Perth are welcome to apply. Australian working rights are required.
