About Cleaning Services: The NSW Government's reforms to public sector cleaning services entail the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the state's Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1, 2026. A team has been established to deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams, including Governance, ITD, Recruitment and Risk Management.
Role
As a Finance Officer (Cleaning Customer Service Officer), you will manage invoicing and reconciliations, resolve chargeback disputes, and maintain accurate financial records in line with Departmental policies and Australian Accounting Standards. You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders across the NSW government sector to ensure issues are resolved fairly and efficiently, while monitoring processes and identifying opportunities for improvement. In this fast-paced, high-volume environment, you will balance competing priorities, maintain accuracy and compliance, and play a key role in supporting the smooth delivery of cleaning services.

Key Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements
* Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or a related field, and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
