About the opportunity:
The General Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Partnerships role is a Permanent, Full-Time position based in Sydney or Melbourne. The GM of M&A and Partnerships is a key member of the AC&P leadership team, impacting HammondCare organization-wide. This role will drive growth and expansion of HammondCare's footprint and care services across Australia, focusing on existing and new geographies. In line with HammondCare's Next Chapter strategy, the role involves developing partnerships, including operating service agreements and mergers & acquisitions. You will collaborate closely with the EGMs of Care Units to identify and lead growth opportunities from inception through to financial closure.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop a pipeline of partnership opportunities with interstate HammondCare leaders
* Establish and nurture relationships with senior executives and key personnel of prospective partners
* Assess and recommend growth and partnership opportunities aligned with HammondCare's strategy, considering valuation and risk
* Create innovative solutions to achieve strategic objectives through new ventures and capital structuring
* Lead transaction processes, including operational, financial, legal due diligence, and risk management
* Collaborate with finance to develop financial forecasts for live opportunities
* Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure action plans meet strategic and financial goals
* Manage external advisors involved in partnership transactions
* Report post-transaction performance against initial assumptions and targets
* Lead, mentor, and develop team members to achieve outcomes
* Foster a performance-driven, collaborative, and learning culture
What do we need from you?
* Commitment to HammondCare's Christian Mission and Values
* 10+ years' experience in M&A, investment, or finance roles
* Proven ability to operate within complex sectors with multiple stakeholders
* Qualifications in accounting, legal, finance, or related fields
* Strong analytical skills; experience building financial models and valuations is desirable
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
* Experience in post-transaction implementation is preferred
* Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
* Passion for enhancing the lives of older Australians; aged care knowledge is advantageous
