We are seeking applications from individuals based at Newman to be part of our 2026 Trainee program at BHP's Newman Operations.
This is a paid one-year traineeship on Nyiyaparli Country and includes Certificate II Environment and Ecosystems. The program involves physical work and outdoor activities such as weeding, seeding, planting, chain saw, and tree nursery tasks.
This program is designed to provide training and support for members to gain work skills and experience to transition to employment and to learn more about land rehabilitation and mining.
We offer mentoring and on-the-job support and seek Trainees' commitment to attendance and safety. While there is some consideration given to cultural and emergency leave, trainees will be required to meet minimum attendance requirements to remain on the program.
Applications close at 5:00pm on Friday, 28th November 2025, with interviews to follow. The first group of trainees will be expected to start in February 2026.
