Job Summary
This is a compelling opportunity for an ambitious Postdoctoral Research Fellow with expertise in data science to join the Clinical‐oMx Lab and contribute to research with genuine clinical impact. In this research‐focused role, you will apply advanced computational and statistical techniques to model spatial metrics alongside clinical covariates, working within a highly collaborative, inquisitive and purpose‐driven research environment. Supported by UQ's strong research culture and world‐class infrastructure, this position offers the chance to build an emerging research profile while translating data‐driven insights into outcomes that matter for patients, clinicians and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Research: Deliver high‐quality research outputs through publication in reputable outlets, contribute to competitive grant applications, and collaborate on joint research initiatives. Build a coherent and emerging research profile grounded in best‐practice methodologies, with a focus on knowledge translation and the transfer or commercialisation of research outcomes.
* Supervision and Researcher Development: Support the supervision and development of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, demonstrating effective mentoring, feedback and coaching. Contribute to the management and development of research staff, fostering positive performance, professional growth and the timely resolution of issues in line with University policies.
* Citizenship and Service: Demonstrate strong academic citizenship aligned with UQ values through collaboration, service contributions and active participation in unit priorities. Support team operations, contribute to governance and committee work, and begin developing external partnerships with industry, government and the broader community.
Qualifications
* Completion or near‐completion of a PhD in a relevant discipline, with a strong foundation in computational, statistical or data‐driven research.
* An emerging research profile, demonstrated through publications in reputable peer‐reviewed journals and presentations at national or international conferences.
* Evidence of contribution to, or participation in, competitive research funding applications and collaborative research projects.
* Experience applying best‐practice research methodologies, with the ability to translate research findings to end users, including through knowledge transfer or commercialisation activities.
* Capability to contribute to the supervision and development of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students through effective mentoring, feedback and support.
* A strong commitment to academic citizenship, collaboration and service, aligned with University values and contributing positively to team and unit priorities.
