We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager - Engineering to join our team. This role will report to the Chief Engineer and is responsible for managing & overseeing the Engineering department.

The successful candidate will:
* Support the Chief Engineer in daily operations and step into the lead role during periods of absence.
* Lead, guide and motivate the Engineering team to deliver high‐quality, timely maintenance services.
* Coordinate and prioritise guest and departmental maintenance requests, ensuring swift and professional resolution.
* Oversee preventative maintenance programs and maintain accurate plant, equipment and safety system records.
* Manage work allocation, review daily logbooks and ensure all tasks meet operational and safety standards.
* Support CAPEX projects, refurbishments and upgrades, working effectively with internal departments and contractors.
* Monitor departmental OPEX expenditure and contribute to cost‐efficient engineering operations.
* Maintain organised and compliant documentation, including reports, service records and regulatory files.
* Promote energy conservation, sustainability initiatives and adherence to all building, safety and compliance requirements.
* Participate in emergency responses, training, and operational briefings as required.
Ideally you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role, with at least 3 years of management experience.
* Strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills and experience managing preventative maintenance programs.
* Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a safety‐focused team.
* Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, and confidence using engineering and hotel management systems.
