Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 (dependant on experience)
La Tabella Italian is seeking a reliable and experienced Sous Chef or Chef de Partie to join our established kitchen team in the Whitsundays
This role is suited to a chef who takes pride in their work, shows up consistently & genuinely enjoys Italian cuisine. We are looking for someone who is confident with fresh pasta, organised in their approach, and calm under pressure. The level of responsibility will be matched to your experience.
About the role
You will be an important part of the daily running of the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef and team to deliver consistent, high quality Italian food. This role can suit an experienced Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to take on more responsibility.
Key responsibilities
• Fresh pasta production and Italian cuisine execution
• Running your section during service with consistency and speed
• Supporting kitchen leadership and stepping up during service when required
• Maintaining food quality, presentation and standards
• Assisting with prep, stock control and minimising waste
• Upholding food safety, hygiene and WHS standards
• Contributing positively to a respectful and professional kitchen culture
You will need to work closely with the Head chef, to better support his role.
What we are looking for
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie
• Strong background in Italian cuisine
• Experience making fresh pasta & stocks is essential
• Reliable, punctual and consistent work ethic
• Ability to work calmly in a fast paced environment
• Strong organisation, cleanliness and attention to detail
• Team focused attitude and willingness to grow
