About the role
As the Building & Grounds Officer at Wilson Transformer Company, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the company's facilities, buildings, and surrounding grounds. This full-time position is based in Glen Waverley, Victoria, and plays a vital role in ensuring the workplace environment is safe, functional, and well-maintained.
What you'll be doing
* Perform general building maintenance tasks, such as painting, repairs, and minor renovations
* Maintain the grounds, including gardening & landscaping
* Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of the facility by carrying out minor building maintenance tasks such as patching, painting, ceiling time replacement and other general fixes
* Support the Maintenance team including equipment access prep, emergency breakdown support & general mechanical assistance
* Perform small scale plumbing tasks
* Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for company events and activities
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of facility management processes and procedures
What we're looking for
* Previous experience in a building maintenance or grounds-keeping role would be highly desirable but not mandatory (preferably in an industrial or commercial setting)
* Strong practical skills and a good understanding of building systems, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
* Proficient in the use of various hand and power tools, as well as lawn and garden equipment
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
* Commitment to maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with contractors and colleagues
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
