Role Overview
We are looking for a SAP S/4HANA ABAP Lead Consultant who is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions in SAP S/4HANA systems. This role involves collaborating with functional teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into optimal technical specifications. This role also involves working closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality SAP services.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze and convert business needs into technical ABAP specifications and custom enhancements.
* Design, develop, test, and support custom ABAP programs, BAPIs, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (RICEF), and IDocs.
* Build and optimize Core Data Services (CDS) Views, ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP), and OData services for Fiori/UI5 and analytical applications.
* Create user interfaces (Fiori Elements, SAPUI5), Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and manage printing technologies.
* Conduct unit testing, support integration testing, troubleshoot and tune performance for ABAP solutions.
* Implement extensibility strategies for S/4HANA, including RAP for cloud, Steampunk / ABAP in the Cloud frameworks.
* Assist in data migration activities: design extraction, transformation, and loading procedures, including data reconciliation and accuracy auditing.
* Technical documentation: deliver specs, estimation reports, transport instructions, and maintenance guides.
* Mentor junior developers and participate in Agile ceremonies, transform functional specs into AV (architecture & validation) ready implementations.
Required Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
* Minimum 14 years of SAP ABAP experience; ideally 7 years for S/4HANA-specific roles.
* Demonstrated experience in ABAP on HANA: OOP ABAP, Core Data Services (CDS), AMDP, performance optimization.
* Hands‐on exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5, Gateway/OData services, RAP framework, and embedded extensibility.
* Experience in RICEF objects, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, IDocs, BAPIs, Exits, BADIs.
* Involvement in S/4HANA Cloud or on‐premises projects, including upgrade‐safe development and core extensibility strategies.
* Familiarity with tools: ABAP Workbench, WebDynpro, Eclipse‐based ADT, SAP BAS, transport management, Agile/Scrum, JIRA.
* Excellent analytical, problem‐solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with high attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and lead functional streams in large projects.
Preferred Qualifications
* SAP certification in S/4HANA ABAP, Fiori, or S/4HANA Cloud Extensibility.
* Familiarity with SAP BTP, CAP services, in‐app extensibility tools, and fit‐to‐standard methodology.
* Experience with EWM, Retail, HCP/Java, or Multi‐module landscapes.
