The MAPU is a dedicated 12‑bed short‑stay unit that streamlines the assessment, planning, and management of patients requiring multidisciplinary input and timely care between the Emergency Department and inpatient wards.
About the role
Deliver high‑standard patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation using your nursing expertise.
Responsibilities
* Assist patients and families with contemporary information and education.
* Respond promptly to sudden changes in patients' health status using comprehensive nursing assessment.
* Collaborate in developing care pathways and support the Clinical Nurse as needed.
* Participate in research activities as required.
About you
* Current nursing registration with AHPRA.
* A strong ability to acquire specialised acute medicine knowledge quickly.
* Effective computer skills and capacity for rapid learning.
* Willingness to participate in service promotion activities.
