Together, GGS and GK are building a unique partnership to deliver a high‑quality swimming pathway for both GGS students and GK members.


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Swimming Programmes to lead a school swimming program and support a high‑performance club environment. This full‑time position is employed by GK Swimming Club and will:

* Lead the entire GGS swimming program (Learn to Swim, school squads, carnivals, performance pathways).
* Act as a strong second‑in‑command (2IC) to the GK Head Coach, supporting squad development, coaching delivery, and pathway management.

This role is designed to attract and retain a career coach dedicated to building and developing a pathway that will leave a lasting impact on generations of swimmers for years to come.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the K‑12 school swimming program at GGS.
* Design and implement structured training programs for all levels.
* Organise, coordinate and deliver school carnivals, trials, and squad events.
* Mentor, support and manage coaching staff.
* Assist GK Head Coach with squad planning, coaching delivery, and progression criteria.
* Develop Junior and Intermediate pathways and mentor junior coaches.
* Support competition preparation and attend targeted meets.


Qualifications & Experience

Required:

* Swimming Australia Coaching License
* ASCTA membership with Development/Bronze License accreditation.
* Current First Aid, CPR, and Working with Children Check.
* Completed Sport Integrity Australia modules.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* 5+ years coaching experience, including State/National level swimmers.
* Advanced/Silver License accreditation.
* Swim teaching certifications (preferably Austswim).
* Experience managing multi‑level swimming programs and using platforms like SwimCentral, UDIO or Clipboard.
* Adaptable coaching practices across a variety of ages and abilities, including disability / CaLD.
* Full‑time role split: Approximately 60% GGS responsibilities / 40% GK responsibilities.
* Early morning and afternoon training sessions are required.
* Employed by GK Swimming Club under GK payroll, with responsibilities heavily weighted toward GGS program leadership.
* Salary package designed to attract and retain a dedicated career coach committed to building a lasting swimming pathway. Salary to be negotiated with the candidate with a package being circa $100k including allowances for travel and bonus incentives.


Facilities

* Senior Pool – 50m heated pool.
* Preparatory Pool – 25m heated pool.
* New indoor 50m pool at GGS planned for 2028.
* City of Kalamunda committed to a new Aquatic Centre in High Wycombe, also planned for 2028.
