Responsibilities
As a Production / Machine Operator at BlueScope, you will be responsible for operating a range of machinery to support daily production activities and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. This includes operating equipment such as overhead cranes, production line machinery, and material handling equipment.
The role also involves monitoring machinery performance, handling steel products, completing quality checks, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You will work closely with your team to meet production targets while strictly following safety procedures and site standards.
Your Profile
The Operator will be responsible for processing large steel coils by operating machinery to downsize 15-ton coils into 4-ton coils. These coils are then supplied to external businesses for use in steel framing and Colorbond guttering manufacturing.
The role involves loading coils into the machine, monitoring the process, and safely handling materials throughout production. Forklift operation and overhead crane use are key parts of the role, as coils are moved using cranes.
A forklift licence and crane experience are preferred. Training is provided through a buddy-up system to ensure safe and effective onboarding.
This is a great opportunity to join a well-established operation with ongoing day shift hours 6 am to 2pm and on-the-job training provided.
