About the Role
The Social Work Department is looking for a Grade 2 Social Worker to join the Women's Health team based at Monash Medical Centre (MMC). This role is fixed term, full-time until 30 August 2026 (Parental Leave).
You would be working within a small team to support vulnerable women during pregnancy and on the postnatal ward to address socially complex situations and ensure safe discharge plans for mothers and their newborns.
About You
You are a compassionate and skilled Social Worker who is committed to supporting women and families through complex and often vulnerable stages of pregnancy and early parenthood. You bring a thoughtful, trauma‐informed approach to your practice and are confident working with individuals experiencing social complexity, including family violence, mental health challenges, and limited supports.
You thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and value the importance of clear communication, shared decision‐making, and patient‐centred care. Your ability to build rapport quickly, assess psychosocial needs, and develop safe, practical discharge plans will be key to your success in this role.
You are adaptable, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced clinical setting. With strong organisational skills and attention to detail, you ensure accurate documentation and uphold best practice standards.
