About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Sales Engineer to join our team in Mackay, QLD. This is a dynamic, customer‐facing role that blends engineering expertise with sales acumen to support and grow our client base across the mining and bulk materials handling sectors.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in strengthening customer relationships, supporting tender processes, and delivering tailored engineering solutions that meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Engagement
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
* Identify and engage new customers within targeted regions and sectors
* Achieve sales targets within allocated accounts
* Contribute to tender submissions and project strategies
* Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
Engineering Support
* Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to conveyor system design and application
* Support engineering teams with inputs for design calculations and analysis
* Assist in developing scopes of work and technical documentation
Technical Documentation
* Prepare professional engineering reports and client documentation
* Develop scopes of work, spare parts lists, and recommendations
* Maintain accurate engineering and estimation records
Site & Operational Support
* Attend site visits (1‐2 times per month), including surface and underground inspections
* Develop an understanding of equipment installation, operation, and maintenance
* Ensure compliance with WHS policies and company procedures
About You
You are a proactive and personable professional who thrives in a technical sales environment. You bring a balance of engineering knowledge, commercial awareness, and strong communication skills.
Essential Criteria
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Experience in a customer‐facing or sales support role
* Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* High attention to detail and organisational skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Desirable
* Experience in conveyor systems or bulk materials handling
* Familiarity with Pronto and MS Project
* Exposure to mining or heavy industry environments
