Our organisation is seeking a skilled Nuclear Engineer to support the integration of nuclear safety, security and safeguards into the design, construction and operation of submarine-supporting infrastructure as part of the SSN AUKUS Build Programme.
About the Opportunity
This role offers a unique chance to be part of a pioneering programme that combines nuclear engineering expertise with assurance and compliance activities.
* Support design, construction and commissioning phases with nuclear engineering knowledge.
* Participate in assurance and compliance activities, contributing to licensing documentation.
* Collaborate with NSQEPs, engineering teams and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
* Identify and implement improvements in nuclear facility engineering processes and documentation.
* Assist in identifying and managing nuclear-related risks associated with facility build and operations.
Please note: Availability for collaboration calls outside normal working hours (UK timezone) is required.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline.
* 5+ years' experience in nuclear, defence or highly regulated engineering environments.
* Knowledge of nuclear safety, security and safeguards principles.
* Familiarity with systems engineering, requirements management and regulatory frameworks.
