Primary objective

Provide compliance administration, data processing and reporting and specialist advice on systems and processes related to registration

and ongoing operation of the Department of Education and Training Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Implement and support audit

and reporting processes for RTO compliance requirements in accordance with the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET)

Quality Framework (VQF) and other relevant standards and legislation.

Context statement

The Department of Education and Training RTO delivers nationally accredited VET to school aged students, servicing the whole of the

Northern Territory. It seeks to expand regionalised provision of VET to all urban and remote schools, while developing policies and building

an expert workforce of VET professionals. The RTO supports the capacity of schools to employ VET trainers and auspices their delivery,

developing and managing appropriate contextualised programs that lead to post-school outcomes. This role oversees the administrative

and compliance requirements of the VET student lifecycle.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide guidance to senior management of the RTO on the identification and reporting of compliance issues for the ongoing operation

of the RTO.

2. Manage and integrate accurate data entry and extraction from the RTO's student management system and provide quality assurance

of assessments, tools and RTO student forms

3. Manage data entry and reporting frameworks for the provision of relevant reports in accordance with VQF Standards and against a

range of other relevant legislation and standards.

4. Provide support to RTO stakeholders on policy and procedures to ensure RTO operations comply with VQF Standards and a range of

other relevant legislation and standards.

5. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools and other RTOs to ensure the ongoing development of contemporary

compliance issues.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated ability to manage accurate records and results in databases such as student and learning management systems, both

manually and electronically to meet reporting and other legislative requirements of the RTO.

2. Good ability to evaluate policies, procedures and standards for RTO compliance programs and knowledge of the VET Quality

Framework.

3. Demonstrated ability to develop and retain strong professional working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues within the agency

and other agencies and the education sector and an ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.

1. Well-developed written and oral communication skills to explain procedures, standards and systems in a manner suited to the needs

of school administration staff and strong attention to detail when creating documents and data entry.

1. Ability to provide guidance and support to senior management of the RTO and the Department on the identification and reporting of

compliance issues related to the ongoing operation of the RTO.

Desirable

1. Previous experience in administration or compliance in a vocational education and training or higher education setting
