Welder/Boilermaker – Projects
Wood is recruiting a skilled and motivated Welder/Boilermaker to join our Projects team at the Ampol Refinery in Brisbane, Australia on a casual (residential) basis, with the potential to transition to full‑time.
Location: Lytton Refinery (site based)
Job requirements: Applicants must have full work rights in Australia.

Responsibilities:
- Fabrication and welding of mechanical apparatus and pipelines
- Maintain, repair and modify existing welding equipment, mechanical machines and infrastructure across the site
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications according to site requirements and standards
- Be proactive in improving reliability of equipment and reducing downtime
- Work closely with site engineers, project team and other trades while ensuring safety
Qualifications:
- Australian recognised Welding & Fitter qualification(s)
- Boilermaker Trade Certificate
- Driver’s license
- Experience with process piping to ASME B31.3
- Understanding of P.I.D and isometric drawings
- Working at heights experience
- Confined space experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to Work Area Permit Systems
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
The successful candidate will undergo medical and background checks and be required to provide certificates and tickets before the medical.
