Overview
The Cybersecurity Specialist is a key role at Antero where we build SaaS products and manage and support bespoke software. In this role you will sit within a DevSecOps team located in Brisbane at our Fortitude Valley office.
Ideal for a versatile cyber professional who enjoys working across all aspects of cloud application security. This is a hands-on role spanning offensive security, security operations, and cloud security.
Take the lead to build on our established security footprint and expand cybersecurity maturity and operations within Antero. You will play a key role in strengthening our security posture through penetration testing, SOC operations, incident detection and response, and supporting secure cloud environments on AWS.
Penetration Testing & Offensive Security
* Proven experience operating across SOC Tier 1, 2, and 3 functions, including incident response and threat hunting.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct internal and external penetration testing across infrastructure, web applications, APIs, and mobile platforms including report collation and preparation.
* Able to identify and solve complex technical problems, including investigating and exploring complex incidents.
* A passion for continuous learning, keeping up with new trends and technologies in cybersecurity.
* Understanding of web application development and operations, including software development, deployment, and infrastructure management, operating systems (Linux), as well as networking including DNS and SSL.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for business audiences.
* Basic system administration and AWS cloud infrastructure management skills.
Security Operations (SOC L1/L2/L3)
* Proven experience operating across SOC Tier 1, 2, and 3 functions, including incident response and threat hunting.
* Perform deep-dive incident analysis, threat hunting, and forensic investigation (L2/L3 functions).
* Develop and tune SIEM and WAF detection rules, use cases, and automated playbooks to improve detection capability and reduce false positives.
* Define and extend the security knowledge base, develop runbooks and security incident response plans.
In addition to the technical skills above
* Our applications are monitored 24/7 as such this role is compensated for Security and infrastructure on-call availability after hours on a weekly rotating roster.
* High attention to detail, especially when working with complex and interconnected systems, to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
* Documentation & knowledge management: An belief in the value of recording and maintaining documentation.
* Certifications such as CISSP, OSCP and familiarity with ACSC Essential 8 are highly regarded.

Capability in this role will be measured via the following activities:
* A demonstration of building and operation of a cybersecurity program, operated within an AWS cloud environment.
* Deep knowledge of SOC operating models and contributing to uplift and maturity.
* Offensive security experience, especially in applied web and mobile application penetration testing.
* As you grow in this role, there is a clear pathway into leadership and management for the right candidate.
