About us
Founded in late 2023, Lawnch is a fast-growing commercial, corporate, R&D and advisory firm based in Burleigh Heads.
We exist to help founders and businesses move further, faster - and we do that by operating differently. We are not a traditional firm. While we dress up when required, day-to-day you'll find us in branded merch, working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment that values outcomes over optics.
We take our work seriously whilst enjoying each others company. We prioritise fitness, mental health, and building a team of people who genuinely want to be here and care about our clients.
We are looking for a new team member who will embody our values:
* Lead Boldly — we're not afraid to do things differently
* Operate Humbly — down-to-earth, human, and client-first
* Move Quickly — speed with precision, and
* Win Strategically — smart thinking, strong execution.
What is it like working at Lawnch?
"Joining Lawnch has been an amazing experience. From day one, the culture is supportive, collaborative and genuinely invested in your growth. You're not just a number - you're part of a team building something."
- Sophie, Lawyer
Position summary
We are looking for someone who can operate at the front of our client experience. As our Client & Operations Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for new clients setting the tone, managing opportunities, and ensuring every interaction reflects our standard.
This is a hands-on role. You will be exposed to real clients, real matters, and how a modern professional services firm grows - while also doing whatever is required behind the scenes to make that happen.
You won't be handed a perfect system. You'll help build it, refine it, and improve it. All whilst building your tool kit to become a lawyer, as this role provides a clear pathway into our corporate and commercial legal team.
What you will be responsible for
* Managing inbound client enquiries (phone and email) with professionalism and empathy
* working closely with the Director and legal team to triage and progress opportunities
* owning the client onboarding experience, ensuring it is seamless and high quality
* coordinating schedules and supporting the flow of client work across the team
* organising and coordinating client and referral partner events
* maintaining and improving internal systems, precedents, and processes, and
* supporting day-to-day operations to ensure the business runs efficiently.
No task is beneath you - whether it's coordinating a client's onboarding, refining a process, getting lunch, doing a post office run or organising the coffees before a meeting - you understand that it all contributes to a premium client experience.
What success looks like
* Every enquiry is handled promptly, professionally and with intent
* no opportunity is lost due to poor follow-up or disorganisation
* our onboarding process is consistently described as seamless and high-quality, and
* the business runs smoother because you are in it.
About you
You're early in your legal career, but you don't think or operate like it.
You are:
* Currently studying a Bachelor of Laws (final year or near completion)
* a strong communicator - confident on the phone and able to build rapport quickly
* highly organised, but comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
* proactive - you don't wait to be told what to do
* commercially curious - you're interested in how businesses operate and grow
* digitally competent and quick to learn new systems, and
* reliable, accountable, and take pride in your work.
Why this role
This is not a typical admin role.
You will gain:
* direct exposure to clients, founders, and commercial matters
* a deep understanding of how a high-performing firm wins and retains work, and
* the opportunity to build the foundations required to become a future corporate and commercial lawyer.
We expect a high volume of applications. We are looking for a small number of candidates who stand out.
Apply
Please submit your application via Seek, including a cover letter and resume, outlining why you believe you will be a great fit for our business. In your cover letter, please tell us about a time you took initiative without being asked and what the outcome was.
Successful candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview.
