Do you enjoy designing, operating, and implementing large-scale networks? Would you like your work to support connectivity within Amazon and externally, as well as between data centers and services? If so, this role involves designing and architecting fail-proof, scalable networks.
The AWS GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) Organization seeks a Network Development Engineer for our Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) team. Responsibilities include configuring standards, deploying and maintaining network software tools, and collaborating on network designs.
Key responsibilities include leading design reviews, deploying systems for network management, developing configuration tools for large-scale device fleets, and working closely with internal customers to bring designs from concept to production.
As part of the Enterprise Network Engineering team, you'll manage tooling connecting 500+ remote offices and multiple internal fabrics, overseeing a network of over 100K devices, using automation to optimize deployment and management.

Basic Qualifications
* 3+ years of automation scripting experience with Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl
* 8+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols
* 5+ years of Linux/Unix environment experience
Preferred Qualifications
* Deep understanding of TCP/IP, IP routing, network security, and core technologies such as OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, NFS, etc.
* Experience with vendor platforms like Cisco, Juniper, Arista, F5, Palo Alto, etc.
* Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures
